:: the longest walk ::

still working on this! the head might have some back and forth and the nose will move...and eyes won't be static. the tail isn't done being colored in either. i think i might just keep adding on to this and make him do different things and go into different walks too...which will hopefully not take me forever...it's the cleanup i swear!

though I'VE BEEN WATCHING PEOPLE, and the head doesn't seem to rotate during a walk, it stays relatively fixed, based on whatever they're looking at...BUT barely anyone looks straight ahead for a super long time, they look down, they look over their shoulder, they check out stuff going on around them...the rest of the body can maintain the same gate but the head tends to follow the eyes. i think the head rotation would only really happen if someone is dancing a bit like in a 30's double bounce walk, otherwise it's a little disorienting, it's like you're looking back and forth constantly.

here's another process to show how it's come along:

dude, much improved! I dig the movement of his hair and the finishing touches. Glad you went for the bug eyed Floyd too. Woot!

lots of frames indeed....
Watch the arm...I think if he was rolling his shoulders and they were breaking the shape of the torso that you might want them to have that definition. But, if they are just hanging down I might suggest that you take the dark curve from over the hump of the shoulder....the open space to the side of it which it inverts is distracting me a little.

Yeah...work the head in and possibly mind the line weight in your design just a little bit more...the hands don't really mesh with the way your treating the legs...which only stands out for me because they are so close.

Other then that Keep on keepin' on.

thanks pedro!

yeah I think one of the drawbacks to keeping the arm in a symbol and shuffling it around is that i've got it drawn a certain way and it doesn't totally adapt when i move it to a new position, so that weird shoulder hump isn't really needed. it's kind of a force of habit for me to draw it in too.

and i always have trouble with cleaning up in flash, my lines get all crazy. i wonder if using the pencil tool is better? or maybe just need to be more mindful of my zoom and brush sizes.
